For years, my van and I have been criss-crossing Scotland, its narrow roads, its silent lochs and its distilleries lost at the ends of the earth. Through countless miles, encounters and shared drams, the idea took hold: to bring it all together on a living map.

This map is neither an official guide nor an institutional tool. It is an explorer’s map, built up over the course of my travels, with precise coordinates to find the distilleries encountered along the way, projects in the making, ghosts of the past, and all those places that tell the story of the soul of Scotch whisky.

The major whisky regions, as I travelled through them: Highlands, Speyside, Islay, Campbeltown, Lowlands, Islands.

Distilleries that are still in operation, those that are dormant, those that are being revived, and those that live on only in memory.

Points of interest, landscapes, detours that are worth a look... or a visit, and above all, all the information you need about the distilleries.
